If you own a Cricut machine and have downloaded SVG files from my shop or anywhere else but unsure how to use them, you've come to the right place!
In this step-by-step tutorial, I will guide you on how to upload SVG files to Cricut Design Space and create stunning paper crafts. Let's get started!
Step 1: Locate the SVG files
SVG files are vector graphics files that can be downloaded from various websites, including my own online shop. When you download digital templates from my shop, they usually come in ZIP files. Inside the compressed file, you'll find a folder named "SVG" where the SVG files are stored (sounds obvious).
Step2: Open Cricut Design Space
Open Cricut Design Space. If you don't have an account, you'll need to create one. Once you've logged in, click on the "New Project" button to get started.
Step 3: Upload SVG Files
To upload your SVG file, click on the "Upload" button in the left-hand menu. Then, click on the "Upload Image" button and locate the SVG file from your local files to upload. Cricut Design Space will automatically detect the file type and guide you through the rest of the upload process.
Don't forget to select the uploaded file and add it to canvas.
Step 4: Set Score Lines
In all my SVG files, I have grouped all the score lines together in the first subgroup. Select it and set its operation to "score".
**You need to have Cricut Scoring Wheel tools to complete the Score operation. If you don't have the scoring tools, you can hide this sub-group and manually score it later.
Step 5: Attach Group
Attach the entire group to keep the shapes in the same arrangement when sending it to cut later.
Step 6: Make it!
Click on the "Make It" button to bring up the cut settings window. Here, you can select your material type, such as cardstock and its thickness, and choose your blade type and pressure settings.
Let's Craft
Once the cutting is complete, remove the mat from the machine and carefully detach the paper craft pieces from the mat. Now, it's your turn to start crafting!
It's easier than you think, right?
Enjoy crafting and feel free to leave a comment to share your experience:)
